About the role

Open Pharma is looking for a motivated and scientifically minded Medical Writer to join our growing team at Oxford PharmaGenesis. Open Pharma is a unique, cross-industry collaboration facilitated by Oxford PharmaGenesis, bringing together pharmaceutical companies, publishers, patient organizations and other stakeholders to drive greater transparency, accessibility and innovation in research communications.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about open access, evidence-based communication and improving access to healthcare information. This role offers a broad mix of scientific writing, research, stakeholder engagement and project delivery, with opportunities to contribute to high-profile initiatives that are helping to shape the future of pharmaceutical research communications.

What you'll do

You’ll support the planning and delivery of multiple projects and initiatives. Your work will include:

  • supporting multistakeholder working groups, including preparing meeting materials, presenting updates, facilitating discussions, and producing clear meeting minutes and action plans
  • writing monthly project updates
  • planning, conducting and reporting on research studies on open access, plain language summaries, metadata, patient engagement and emerging trends in scientific communications
  • preparing abstracts, posters and manuscripts for conferences and peer-reviewed journals
  • developing blog posts, newsletter articles, social media campaigns and other communication materials
  • engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across the pharmaceutical industry, publishing, academia and patient communities
  • attending industry meetings and conferences.

 

About you

We are looking for someone who is curious, proactive and excited by the opportunity to work on projects that influence industry-wide change. You may have a medical communications, pharmaceutical industry or scientific publishing background.

 

You should have:

•         experience in scientific or medical writing

•         strong communication skills

•         experience interpreting and presenting scientific data for different audiences

•         excellent organizational and project management skills

•         the ability to manage multiple projects and to work independently

•         experience preparing publication materials

•         confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and contributing to meetings

•         a genuine interest in open access, transparency and innovation in research communications.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who can attend our Oxfordshire office regularly. However, you could be based in one of other UK office locations, including London Oxford and Cardiff.
