Oxford PharmaGenesis is looking for a talented Senior Medical Writer to join one of our high-performing publications teams at a particularly exciting stage of a high-profile programme. This is an exciting opportunity to help disseminate pivotal scientific data while the programme builds towards launch, making it an ideal role if you would like to influence how evidence is communicated, interpreted and understood across the scientific community.
The core responsibilities of this role reflect those expected of a Senior Medical Writer: developing high-quality content, guiding messaging, adapting style for different audiences, and collaborating closely with clients and experts. You will also be expected to apply scientific rigour, strategic insight and clearly communicated scientific narratives to a broad range of publication deliverables.
Experience in immune-mediated inflammatory conditions, such as dermatology, rheumatology and gastroenterology, would be highly beneficial.
Key aspects of the role include the following.
- Translating complex clinical and scientific data into clear, engaging and impactful publications that support scientific narratives.
- Acting as a strategic partner, contributing ideas that help to shape publication plans and enhance data communication.
- Applying a strong storytelling mindset, ensuring that every manuscript, abstract and slide deck conveys the science accurately, with a compelling and coherent narrative that resonates with target audiences.
- Collaborating with internal colleagues, external experts and authors to ensure that publications are accurate, timely, compliant and developed to the highest standards.
- Mentoring and supporting less experienced writers, promoting excellence in both writing and scientific insight.
We are looking for a talented Senior Medical Writer who has:
- a science PhD or MSc, preferably in life sciences
- experience of writing in the medical communications sector
- a ‘can-do’ attitude that supports great team working.
The team is ideally looking for someone who can join them in the Oxford office 1 or 2 days each week, but consideration will be given to other UK office locations.
