About the role

Senior Writer - Open Pharma

Are you ready to change the communication of pharma research?

We’re looking for an experienced communications professional to be the lead writer for our Open Pharma project. The role and other roles in the team can to some extent be shaped around your skills, but ideally we would like you to:

  • contribute to content strategy, working with the Open Pharma project lead and the team.
  • contribute to developing a pipeline of commissioned content that drives audience awareness and engagement.
  • work with Oxford PharmaGenesis colleagues across multiple teams and a fantastic external group of pharma clients, publishers, patients and other advisors on a range of communications, including articles, posters, slides, social media posts, videos and podcasts.
  • contribute to original research projects relevant to Open Pharma
  • contribute to the development and facilitation of events, such as symposia and roundtables.
  • represent and promote Open Pharma and Oxford PharmaGenesis to clients, colleagues, collaborators and competitors.

We need someone who is passionate about scientific communications, is an experienced writer and enjoys working with a broad range of people and topics. To make the most of this role, you’ll have a strong interest in exploring Open Pharma topics, applying your instinct for innovation and making change happen. The role is intended to be focused full time on Open Pharma, although the project will sit within a bigger group with regular single-client work. You will, therefore, naturally take part in the wider life of the group and may, from time to time, be called upon to work on other business needs.

This position can be based in any of our UK offices, or remotely in the UK.

We are looking for an established and talented writer who has:

  • a science degree, preferably in life sciences
  • experience in a communications role in a healthcare, publishing, marketing or agency environment
  • a good understanding of scientific research publishing
  • a proven track record of delivering high-quality science or medical content that meets the needs of specialist and non-specialist audiences.
